Friends of The Baby Journey

Here are our local friends who offer great products and services for pregnancy and beyond. Enjoy!

Maternology

Angie is a private midwife and specialist antenatal & postnatal massage therapist. She takes a holistic and individualised approach to her private midwifery care and massage therapies.

All antenatal and postnatal midwifery appointments will be undertaken in the comfort of your own home, to suit your needs. Massages therapies are undertaken at our beautiful therapy room in Cheltenham on a luxury Hydrotherm system, a state of the art system that is safe and supportive for massage during pregnancy.

Little Bunnies Sleep Consultant

Amy is a Cheltenham-based infant sleep specialist and a mum to two little girls herself.  If you’re worried about sleepless nights, or simply want to learn the best ways to support your baby’s sleep in their first few months, Amy can help.  She specialises in very gentle sleep techniques, helping parents understand how to safely and gradually build their baby’s sleep skills.

Sleep is so crucial to our baby’s development and to our own well-being too.  Join a small group workshop or book a personalised session with Amy to learn what to expect from newborn sleep, how to set good sleep foundations for the future and how to avoid common pitfalls for newborn parents.

Cheltenham Rocks

Our guides include regular what’s on round-ups of things to do in Cheltenham with families plus relevant news and offers for Cheltenham families. You can search for places to go for a specific age group or location.

You’ll also find articles from local parents who have written about their favourite things to do with the kids in Cheltenham, and reviewed some of Cheltenham’s well-known (and less well-known!) activities.

Maternity Services at Gloucestershire Hospitals

Check out the local NHS Trust Maternity services web page to view virtual tours, find contact numbers, how to find the different locations, read a whole catalogue of patient information leaflets and lots lots more!

Gloucestershire Maternity & Neonatal Voices Partnership

The role of the Maternity and Neonatal Voices Partnership is to gather and understand feedback and experiences from women, birthing people and their families who are currently or have recently used maternity, neonatal and health visiting services in Gloucestershire.

We do this through surveys, community engagement sessions, hosting interactive sessions on social media and holding focus groups. Our team attends workstream meetings and the Local Maternity and Neonatal System (LMNS) board meetings to feed back the experiences we hear about.

The MNVP is independent of the NHS, but aims to work closely and in partnership with services to help inform, challenge, bring about positive change and celebrate good practice.

Gloucestershire Breastfeeding Support Network (GBSN)

The Gloucestershire Breastfeeding Supporters’ Network (GBSN) is a charity “owned” and run by peer supporters.  We provide information, encouragement and support to families at any stage of their breastfeeding journey, from pregnancy through any challenges, to weaning from the breast and beyond.  Every week we run seven groups across the county.  There is a qualified breastfeeding counsellor at every group, as well as plenty of tea and cake and toys for the little ones.  Our groups are very social and there are always plenty of other mums around to talk to about your parenting experiences.

The Lullaby Trust

The Lullaby Trust provides emotional support for bereaved families, promotes expert advice on safer baby sleep and raises awareness of sudden infant death.

Our safer sleep advice gives simple steps for how you can sleep your baby to reduce the risk of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) which is commonly known as cot death. It can give you the peace of mind to enjoy this special time.

Our advice is based on strong scientific evidence and should be followed for all sleep periods, not just at night.
